Author Resources

Resources to help make your journey smoother, and ones I wish I had found earlier in the writing journey!

Writing Resources

Resources and accounts that were extremely helpful in my journey

Reedsy

Reedsy is a FREE writing platform, they do have a paid version and have completed a lot of updates. If you're looking for a free platform that will format and export your work this is a must!

Udemy

I took a few different creative writing and world building classes through Udemy-ALL were budget friendly and really helped me understand what the heck I was doing, how to incorporate emotions, the different structures, getting world building templates and so much more.

@firstdraftschool

This account on Instagram was SO HELPFUL in learning show vs tell. They give great examples and scenes, with before and after's so you can really understand the difference it made. They also go over everything writing related but the show vs tell content was the best for me!

Wordhippo

My absolute savior when words weren't wording. Need Synonyms, antonyms, rhymes, or translations? Bookmark this NOW!

Swag Resources

This is a Paragraph. Click on "Edit Text" or double click on the text box to start editing the content and make sure to add any relevant details or information that you want to share with your visitors.

Stickers & Bubble Mailers

Sticker Mule has been amazing for getting quality bubble mailers and stickers without going into debt. They have constant deals like 50 die cut stickers for 29$ and free shipping. I also got my Kickstarter bubble mailers during a deal where I received 50 10x 13 mailers for 29$ (click the banner above for my referral credit)

You can also print and cut your own stickers if you have a cutting machine like Cricut using their print and cut feature!

Canva

I designed and ordered all my bookmarks and pull up banners on Canva.

Staples & Office Depot

You can print your own overlays at Staples and Office Depot using their self serve printers. Bring any laser printable vellum sheets and print them based on the specs of your book.  More cost friendly than outsourcing.

Marketing & Content Resources

These are resources of marketing companies I have used and trust or accounts that offer free options.

Cover Mock Ups

this is a free site to generate cover mockups for paperback, hardcover, and Ebook

Land Of Birch

I have personally worked with Fariss who created an entire marketing strategy "spell book" for me along with a months worth of hashtags to use, caption hooks, and so much more

Muse & Margins

As stated above, they have a marketing package where they will pull marketable quotes and create graphics for you to post. It is also very budget friendly!

MGSDesiigns

MG started as an ARC reader for me before they reached out offering to pull quotes and scenes for me. NO REGRETS! They not only pulled so many parts I had forgotten about, but also wrote how they could be marketed and in which ways. I was blown away. They also offer things like cover design, scene breaks, and more.

@avaasbooks

This account creates free canva templates for authors to use for social media. She also has paid templates as well. There are some for all kinds of genres and seasons!

Editing Resources

These resources are editors I have worked with and trust completely, businesses that offer free workshops, or accounts that offer free advice via their sites and socials.

Muse & Margins

Muse & Margins conducted a 10k edit for me and proofread A Dragon So Savage, I used their other services to receive chibi art and a marketables pull. They also offer FREE workshops on all things editing related and typically offer a free 10K edit to all attendees at the end.

Enchanted edits by Kayleigh

Kayleigh was my line editor for A Dragon So Savage. She is reasonably priced and goes above and beyond what I expected.

Colleen Ochab

Colleen does developmental edits and after being burned she is a breath of fresh air! She is an indie author herself and has editing services geared towards the budgetary needs of most indie authors.
